Custom Reversible Jackets & Reversible Windbreaker Printing Singapore

A reversible windbreaker is not simply a jacket printed on two sides — it is a structurally different product with specific fabric construction, branding constraints, and design requirements. This page covers everything unique to the reversible format: what makes it different from a standard windbreaker, why embroidery is the correct branding method, and how to design effectively for both panels.

What Makes a Reversible Jacket Structurally Different?

A custom reversible jacket is constructed from two complete layers of outer-quality fabric — both joined at the seams, zip, and collar, and both finished to be worn as the exterior. The wearer flips the jacket inside-out to reveal the second face. This is fundamentally different from a lined windbreaker, where the interior mesh is decorative and not intended to be worn outward.

The most common fabric specification for Singapore reversible windbreaker printing is microfibre bonded: a soft microfibre outer layer laminated to a smooth inner surface, giving the jacket structure and the warmth suited to air-conditioned environments while remaining lightweight outdoors. High-density polyester is not typically used for reversible construction because its interior finish is too raw to wear comfortably against clothing.

The dual-fabric build accounts for the $10–$20 per-piece premium over a standard single-layer windbreaker at equivalent specs.

Reversible vs Standard Windbreaker: Choosing the Right Format

If you are already browsing our custom jackets & windbreakers range, use this guide to decide whether the reversible format is right for your order — or whether a standard windbreaker serves your objectives better.

Consideration Reversible Windbreaker Standard Windbreaker
Organisation has 2 distinct brand colours Ideal fit Less relevant
Staff move between formal & casual contexts Best choice Single context only
Large back print or full-panel graphic required Not recommended Better choice
Budget is a primary constraint $10–$20 premium per piece Lower cost baseline
Premium VIP gift or year-end programme Higher perceived value Functional, less premium feel
Logo is complex / gradient-heavy Artwork adaptation may be needed More method flexibility

Branding Constraints: The Most Critical Planning Point

Important: Because both layers are worn against the body, embroidery is the primary recommended branding method for reversible windbreaker panels. DTF, heat-transfer, and silkscreen films bond to the fabric surface — when that side is worn as the interior, the film contacts clothing and skin, causing discomfort and accelerating delamination. Embroidery thread penetrates the fabric cleanly; the back of the design is flat and invisible when worn reversed.

Recommended

Embroidery

Thread penetrates both fabric layers from front to back. The reverse side is a clean, flat thread network — invisible when worn inward and completely comfortable against clothing. Works on both panels simultaneously.

Best for: Corporate wordmarks, clean logo shapes, chest and sleeve placements up to 10–12 cm wide.

Limited Use

Silkscreen Printing

Acceptable on a designated outer panel only. Must be confirmed with your supplier before artwork sign-off. Not suitable for the interior-facing panel.

Best for: Simple 1–2 colour logos on the fixed outer side where reversing is infrequent.

Not Recommended

DTF & Heat Transfer

Film adhesive bonds to the fabric surface. When the printed side is worn as the interior, the film contacts clothing — this is uncomfortable and causes edge peeling after repeated wear-and-reverse cycles.

Use instead: These methods are fully suitable for our standard (non-reversible) windbreakers.

How to Design Effectively for Both Panels

Because both sides can be seen, every design decision must work in both wearing orientations. Most orders fail at this stage — the primary panel is specified clearly, but the secondary panel is either underdefined or creates a visual conflict with the zip tape or collar detail.

Primary Panel

The Branded Exterior

Carries your main corporate logo at chest-left (8–10 cm wide recommended). Optional secondary placement: right sleeve or back centre below collar. Keep the chest logo clean — embroidery at this scale retains detail and reads clearly from a normal conversation distance.

Provide: Pantone code + vector logo (AI or EPS).

Secondary Panel

The Interior Face

Three common approaches: (1) Clean — no branding (most popular; gives recipients a genuinely neutral jacket for personal use). (2) Tonal embroidery — same thread colour as the fabric, visible only as texture. (3) Subtle logo in secondary brand colour. Avoid high-contrast or large logos on this panel unless the wearer context requires it.

Provide: Pantone code for interior fabric.

Zip & Collar Detail

The Fixed Element

The zip tape colour and collar are the same on both sides — they cannot be reversed. Choose a neutral zip tape (black, dark navy, or fabric-matching) that works with both colour faces. A bright accent zip that suits the exterior may clash badly with the interior colour.

Confirm zip tape colour relative to both panels.

How to Place Your Order

1

Send your brief

Exterior & interior Pantone codes (or fabric swatches), vector logo file (AI / EPS), zip tape colour preference, size breakdown (XS–3XL), quantity, and required delivery date. Submit via our contact page or WhatsApp +65 6589 8175.

2

Receive mockup & quotation

Digital embroidery mockup on both panels with itemised quote. Revisions included until artwork is approved.

3

Physical sample (strongly recommended)

For first-time reversible orders and any programme above 200 pcs, a pre-production sample is essential. Colour and fabric combinations in person differ from digital mockups. This is particularly important for the zip tape selection relative to both panel colours.

4

Confirm & production begins

Once sample is approved and deposit received, full production commences. Lead time is 20–40 working days from this point. Plan a minimum of 10 weeks ahead for year-end gifting periods.

5

Delivery to your location

Delivered to your office or event venue in Singapore. Bulk packing standard. Individual gift boxing available on request (add-on cost and lead time).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I embroider on both sides of a reversible windbreaker?

Yes. Embroidery is the recommended method precisely because it works cleanly on both panels. Most corporate orders embroider the primary exterior with a chest logo and leave the secondary interior clean or with a subtle tonal embroidery in the same thread colour as the fabric.

What is the MOQ for reversible windbreaker printing in Singapore?

Aquaholic’s MOQ for custom reversible windbreakers is 100 pieces. Each unique colour combination (e.g. navy/black vs navy/red) is a separate run with its own MOQ. Multi-variant orders placed together typically reduce the per-piece cost versus separate orders.

What is the difference between a reversible and a double-layered windbreaker?

A reversible windbreaker has two fully finished outer-quality fabric layers — both designed to be worn as the exterior face. A double-layered windbreaker typically has a bonded inner lining that is functional (adds warmth or structure) but not finished for exterior wear. Always confirm with your supplier that the interior fabric is intended to be worn outward.

Can I have a large back print on a reversible jacket?

Large back prints with DTF or heat transfer are not suitable — the print film contacts clothing when the jacket is worn reversed. Large back embroidery is possible but costs significantly more above 15 cm wide. If your design requires a large back graphic, a standard (non-reversible) windbreaker is the better product choice.

How long does reversible windbreaker printing take in Singapore?

From artwork approval and deposit confirmation, production takes 20–40 working days. For year-end gifting (October–December), we recommend briefing no later than August to allow time for the sample stage and any design revisions.
